After 14 played minutes Mattich got a freekick which was hit by Patric Dober. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stefan Daun in the 15th minute of play forced Mattich's goalkeeper Tim-Sebastian Konermann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 16 minutes, Gerrit-Alexander Gulatz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mattich and the Sommerein players grew even worse after the yellow card. After having played for 18 minutes, Stefan Daun managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sommerein's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stefan Daun was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Sommerein booed when Mattich was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gerrit-Alexander Gulatz didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 25th minute, Julius Schlacher fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Tim-Sebastian Konermann, passed just outside the right post. After having played for 27 minutes, Ralf Katzer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sommerein's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ralf Katzer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Stefan Daun managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sommerein's supporters rose to their feet, but Stefan Daun was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tim-Sebastian Konermann breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the last second Tim-Sebastian Konermann throw himself and got hold of the ball when Stefan Daun in the 31stth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Stefan Daun sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Klaudius Ivanschitz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sommerein's supporters rose to their feet, but Klaudius Ivanschitz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tim-Sebastian Konermann breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thomas Geske sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Stefan Daun received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Tim-Sebastian Konermann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Thomas Geske had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tim-Sebastian Konermann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stefan Daun in the 47th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Stefan Daun struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Tim-Sebastian Konermann didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sommerein. Mattich's Tim-Sebastian Konermann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stefan Daun in the 54th minute of play. Tim-Sebastian Konermann was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in Mattich's zone, Ulrich Krützfeld stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tim-Sebastian Konermann came out of the goal and Ulrich Krützfeld tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Mattich's Gerrit-Alexander Gulatz got a free kick in the 71st minute. After 73 minutes of play, Sommerein's Ralf Katzer made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tim-Sebastian Konermann was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ralf Katzer in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tim-Sebastian Konermann saved Mattich from getting behind. Tim-Sebastian Konermann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stefan Daun, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Sommerein fully deserved thier win.
