Jan-Oliver Rudersdorfer could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Steffen Jancker made a huge save. In the 15th minute Clemens Wilmann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thom Nelson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thom Nelson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Clemens Wilmann's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. Lothar Reichel charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lothar Reichel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of FC Hurricane booed when Wernhies 08 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lothar Reichel didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Lothar Reichel came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Wernhies 08 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lothar Reichel couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Wernhies 08 getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Herbert Krick hit a great ball. When Lothar Reichel came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Wernhies 08 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lothar Reichel couldn't finish the play. Steffen Jancker showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Niko Zillen, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Tim Theinert hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Herbert Krick during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Thom Nelson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Clemens Wilmann, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Clemens Wilmann was the one to do the kick off. Robert Giese recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 54th minute, Tim Theinert made a precise shot to the right of Steffen Jancker. Wernhies 08's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Tim Theinert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 59 played minutes Wernhies 08 got a freekick which was hit by Michael Malliouris. A collision led to Wernhies 08 getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Torben Lübke hit a great ball. If Niko Zillen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 72nd minute Jan-Oliver Rudersdorfer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Steffen Jancker saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 81 played minutes Wernhies 08 got a freekick which was hit by Michael Malliouris. Steffen Jancker showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tim Theinert, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Steffen Jancker didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tim Theinert went, in the 90th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Wernhies 08's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
