Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Walter Friz made the kick off which started today's match. After having played for 3 minutes, Walter Friz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Edlbach FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Walter Friz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Edlbach FC getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Tobias Berens hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, Wattens's André Herrmann tried to score from far away in the 7th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After 11 played minutes Edlbach FC got a freekick which was hit by Torben Riepe. Wattens's Tobias Schönbein got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dominik Schug during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Dominik Schug kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Dustin de Raaf sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 21 minutes into the match, Wattens's Dustin de Raaf sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Till-Julius Lufen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Tobias Schönbein received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Till-Julius Lufen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 27th minute Dustin de Raaf shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Till-Julius Lufen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 29 minutes into the match, Edlbach FC's goalkeeper Till-Julius Lufen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tobias Schönbein. The audience was convinced that Ralf-Willy Holtmann's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hartmut Meier was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. Wattens's Hartmut Meier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ralf-Willy Holtmann in the 33rd minute of play. After 39 played minutes Wattens got a freekick which was hit by Tobias Schönbein. Hartmut Meier stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ralf-Willy Holtmann's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. If Tobias Schönbein had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 45 minutes into the game, Ralf-Willy Holtmann cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Hartmut Meier was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dustin de Raaf stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 60th minute, Tobias Schönbein ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Till-Julius Lufen was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. The supporters of Edlbach FC booed when Wattens was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Helmar Uedickoven didn't get a good kick on the ball. Walter Friz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hartmut Meier having to interfere. Benedikt Pickartz charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Benedikt Pickartz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Benedikt Pickartz hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Walter Friz struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Hartmut Meier didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Edlbach FC. After a defensive mix-up in Wattens's zone, Ralf-Willy Holtmann stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hartmut Meier came out of the goal and Ralf-Willy Holtmann tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 75th minute, Tobias Schönbein got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Till-Julius Lufen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dustin de Raaf's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. After a rather tough play, Wattens's Benedikt Pickartz got a free kick in the 79th minute. Walter Friz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Hartmut Meier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dustin de Raaf kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. In the 84th minute, Gerhard Ramusch fired a really elegant long shot, but Hartmut Meier threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. A collision led to Edlbach FC getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Walter Friz hit a great ball. Tobias Schönbein sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Till-Julius Lufen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tobias Schönbein, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wattens were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Edlbach FC for a fine match.
