The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Nereo Rik came up free with the goalie in the 2nd minute, the SK Fenerbahce Wien fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nereo Rik couldn't finish the play. Nereo Rik might have been able to make a better finish in the 5th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Achim Meyers. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nereo Rik ran back to his position shaking his head. Achim Meyers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nereo Rik in the 5th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dennis Zingler got free with Chris Draxl in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nereo Rik in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Achim Meyers saved F.C. Augsburg 1907 from getting behind. SK Fenerbahce Wien's Chris Draxl played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dennis Zingler in the 12th minute of play. 13 minutes into the match, F.C. Augsburg 1907's goal looked a bit too open when Brecht Govaerts came free, but Achim Meyers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 14thth minute of the game Brecht Govaerts who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but F.C. Augsburg 1907's Achim Meyers was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Dennis Zingler in the 18thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Chris Draxl, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Lu Jun Yin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Achim Meyers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dennis Zingler in the 22nd minute of play forced SK Fenerbahce Wien's goalkeeper Chris Draxl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. SK Fenerbahce Wien's attentive Ernesto Illescas managed to snatch the ball when Jan-Philipp Schnitzler made a throw-in in the 24th minute of the game. In the 25th minute Nereo Rik shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Achim Meyers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Yannick König hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. In the 28th minute of the match Vasyl Gladiy sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Achim Meyers skillfully saved the ball. SK Fenerbahce Wien's defense didn't have a chance, in the 29th minute, when Dennis Zingler scored to the left of an out of position Chris Draxl, making the score, 1-0. 33 minutes into the game, SK Fenerbahce Wien's Nereo Rik nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Achim Meyers made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 35th minute, Nereo Rik left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SK Fenerbahce Wien fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. SK Fenerbahce Wien's Ernesto Illescas quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Yannick König, made in the 42nd minute of the game. When Nereo Rik came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the SK Fenerbahce Wien fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nereo Rik couldn't finish the play.
In the 53rd minute, Nereo Rik ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Achim Meyers was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Chris Draxl didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Norbert Haase went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. Achim Meyers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nereo Rik in the 63rd minute of the match. Achim Meyers stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nereo Rik's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. If Göksel Müfit had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. SK Fenerbahce Wien made a substitution. Ixaka Boher replaced Nereo Rik. In the 74thth minute of the game Ixaka Boher who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but F.C. Augsburg 1907's Achim Meyers was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ixaka Boher fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Achim Meyers having to interfere. Chris Draxl showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kai-Uwe Themel, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. In the 84th minute of the game Yannick König made a throw-in which Göksel Müfit played forward. After 85 minutes of play, F.C. Augsburg 1907's Dennis Zingler made it 3-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Chris Draxl was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ixaka Boher in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Achim Meyers saved F.C. Augsburg 1907 from getting behind. In the 90th minute, SK Fenerbahce Wien's Ixaka Boher ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Achim Meyers. Achim Meyers yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-4. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ixaka Boher in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Achim Meyers prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 95th minute SK Fenerbahce Wien were awarded a corner. Vasyl Gladiy went to the cornerflag to take it. It was a well-played corner which Roland-Nicolas Hertz managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. In the 97th match minute, F.C. Augsburg 1907 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dennis Zingler to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched SK Fenerbahce Wien eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
