Tom Kaumanns showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roland Hens, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. After a rather tough play, FC Żywiec's Roland Unterberger got a free kick in the 5th minute. A collision led to FC Żywiec getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Hans-Dieter Kolb hit a great ball. Roland Hens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 22 minutes, Mats-Alexander Sittarz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Neukettenhof's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mats-Alexander Sittarz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Steven Schuster made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ralph Friedrich in the 23rd minute. In the 34th minute, Mats-Alexander Sittarz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Klaus-Marco Kühbauer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A throw-in in the 38th minute of the game was made by Pascal Fabisch with Hans-Jürgen Bähner as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. The supporters of Neukettenhof booed when FC Żywiec was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Björn Weiss didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, FC Żywiec's Steven Schuster got control of the ball when Mats-Alexander Sittarz tried to sneak it across the goal line. FC Żywiec's Steven Schuster played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mats-Alexander Sittarz in the 46th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mats-Alexander Sittarz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Roland Unterberger got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match had gone on for 54 minutes, Klaus-Marco Kühbauer took a quick shot and it went in 0-1 without a chance for Tom Kaumanns to make any attempt to save it. Roland Hens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 66 minutes, Roland Hens made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Neukettenhof's Tom Kaumanns tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roland Hens in the 74th minute of play forced Neukettenhof's goalkeeper Tom Kaumanns to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tom Kaumanns was a little too slow when Roland Unterberger got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 75th minute. The score was now 0-3. Through an outstanding action, after 78 minutes, Tom Kaumanns successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 80 minutes, Peter Nieth mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Neukettenhof and the FC Żywiec players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Neukettenhof's Peter Nieth got a free kick in the 81st minute. Roland Hens kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 83rdth minute. Though ot was a great shot Neukettenhof's keeper Tom Kaumanns was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. If Hans-Jürgen Bähner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Peter Nieth was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 92 minutes had been played. After 92 played minutes Neukettenhof got a freekick which was hit by Peter Nieth. Hans-Dieter Kolb struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Tom Kaumanns didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Żywiec. The Neukettenhof fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. FC Żywiec were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
