FC Żywiec's Steven Schuster played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oscar Ayrault in the 13th minute of play. In the 13th minute, Klaus-Marco Kühbauer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Steven Schuster took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bebeto Romário, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Raphael Ulrich kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. FC Żywiec's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Roland Hens in the 20th minute. A well-hit corner resulted in Hans-Jürgen Bähner heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. But to his dismay, Oscar Ayrault quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. If Karl-Michael Fredriksson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Karl-Michael Fredriksson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Steven Schuster tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 53rdth minute of the game Bebeto Romário who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Żywiec's Steven Schuster was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Roland Hens might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Michael Steele. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Roland Hens ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karl-Michael Fredriksson in the 56th minute of play forced FC Żywiec's goalkeeper Steven Schuster to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Karl-Michael Fredriksson in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Steven Schuster prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Bebeto Romário sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 61 minutes of play, Rechberg FC's Bebeto Romário made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net.
