Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Tewkesbury's Franz Sherwood started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jo Higginson got free with Bobby Fowler in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. CUX United's Andre Hornsby shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 19th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Bobby Fowler but with some difficulty. Denzil Alsop's late challenge caught a CUX United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Denzil Alsop helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of CUX United booed when Tewkesbury was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Denzil Alsop didn't get a good kick on the ball. CUX United's attack was well implemented in the 28th minute, but when Martin Osbourne was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. Jo Higginson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bobby Fowler having to interfere. If Martin Osbourne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as CUX United's Martin Osbourne slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Bobby Fowler. That made the score 1-0 after 35 minutes of play. If Jo Higginson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Carl Harrison kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. 45 minutes into the match, CUX United's goal looked a bit too open when Jo Young came free, but Jonny Myers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Martin Osbourne stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, CUX United's Jonny Myers got control of the ball when Jo Young tried to sneak it across the goal line. Tewkesbury's Bobby Fowler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martin Osbourne in the 63rd minute of play. 67 minutes into the game, Martin Osbourne cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Bobby Fowler was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 76th minute Martin Osbourne shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bobby Fowler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Martin Osbourne's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bobby Fowler was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. When Kris Cross fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tewkesbury's protests and gave Kris Cross a yellow card for diving instead. After 90 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Tewkesbury! Bobby Fowler went to the wrong direction when Andre Hornsby was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Tewkesbury's zone, Martin Osbourne stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bobby Fowler came out of the goal and Martin Osbourne tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. CUX United fully deserved thier win.
