Harvey Eubank made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. In the 16th minute Rob Froggatt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Harvey Eubank saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 17 minutes into the match, Fnatic FC's goal looked a bit too open when Wesley Tonkin came free, but Craig Haywood reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Harvey Eubank didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Joe Whitmore went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Harvey Eubank showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dean Locking in the 21st minute of the match. Craig Haywood made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Michael Woodyat in the 25th minute of play. After having played for 28 minutes, Joe Whitmore managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fnatic FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joe Whitmore was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 35th minute Rob Froggatt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Harvey Eubank saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 35 played minutes Wuhan FC got a freekick which was hit by Michael Woodyat. Wesley Tonkin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Craig Haywood having to interfere. After having played for 39 minutes, Michael Woodyat managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wuhan FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Michael Woodyat was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Huey Sheene blasted a shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Craig Haywood having to make a save. With a little luck, Fnatic FC's Craig Haywood got control of the ball when Michael Woodyat tried to sneak it across the goal line.

Michael Woodyat received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Craig Haywood tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Harvey Eubank took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joe Whitmore, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Michael Woodyat had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wesley Tonkin struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Craig Haywood didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wuhan FC. After a rather tough play, Wuhan FC's Michael Woodyat got a free kick in the 72nd minute. The supporters of Fnatic FC booed when Wuhan FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Michael Woodyat didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 79th minute of the match, Rob Froggatt tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Harvey Eubank saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After a defensive mix-up in Fnatic FC's zone, Michael Woodyat stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Craig Haywood came out of the goal and Michael Woodyat tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Wesley Tonkin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Michael Woodyat had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fnatic FC's Craig Haywood played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wesley Tonkin in the 91st minute of play. Freddie Moxon was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 94 minutes into the match. In the 93rd minute, one of Wuhan FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Wuhan FC.
