Spectators: 8504 (Terracing: 6378, Seating: 1956, VIP seats: 170) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Franz Sherwood started the match with the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jo Young in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Colin Caine saved Liverpool F.C. from getting behind. If Tom Tetley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tom Tetley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Bobby Fowler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Keith Thornton who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 11thth minute tested the skills of Bobby Fowler when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Bobby Fowler showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Colin Lynch, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Colin Lynch struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Bobby Fowler didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Liverpool F.C.. After having played for 16 minutes, Colin Lynch managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Liverpool F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Colin Lynch was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Colin Lynch struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Bobby Fowler didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Liverpool F.C.. Colin Lynch blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bobby Fowler having to make a save. With a little luck, Tewkesbury's Bobby Fowler got control of the ball when Keith Thornton tried to sneak it across the goal line. Tom Tetley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bobby Fowler made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tom Tetley in the 42nd minute of play. After having played for 43 minutes, Colin Lynch managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Liverpool F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Colin Lynch was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Tom Tetley managed to get in a good position for a shot. Liverpool F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Tom Tetley was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bobby Fowler breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Liverpool F.C.'s Keith Thornton got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Colin Lynch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Liverpool F.C.'s Tom Tetley got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 66 minutes into the match, Tewkesbury's goal looked a bit too open when Tom Tetley came free, but Bobby Fowler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Keith Thornton recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jo Young received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Colin Caine tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tom Tetley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 80th minute, Keith Thornton ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bobby Fowler was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Bobby Fowler made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Colin Lynch in the 84th minute of play. Zackary Hardy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bobby Fowler having to interfere. Liverpool F.C.'s Colin Lynch got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bobby Fowler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tom Tetley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Denzil Alsop kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Colin Lynch in the 96th minute of play forced Tewkesbury's goalkeeper Bobby Fowler to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bobby Fowler made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Keith Thornton in the 97th minute of play. Liverpool F.C. walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
