Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Sam Faith fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Santa Coloma's protests and gave Sam Faith a yellow card for diving instead. In the 9th minute, one of FC Santa Coloma:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for FC Santa Coloma. If Walter Dingle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Patrick Wild received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Joe Naylor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Walter Silk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joe Naylor having to interfere. After 24 played minutes F.C. Copenhagen got a freekick which was hit by Walter Dingle. FC Santa Coloma's Ray Bostock suffered a concussion in the 29th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. After 29 minutes, Stephen Leather mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the F.C. Copenhagen and the FC Santa Coloma players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 30th minute, Stephen Leather hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 33 minutes of play, FC Santa Coloma's Walter Silk made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joe Naylor was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Walter Silk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 39th minute, Shane Bland made a precise shot to the right of Joe Naylor. F.C. Copenhagen's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Joe Naylor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Walter Silk in the 43rd minute of the match. Joe Naylor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Walter Silk, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Walter Silk to strike the kick off in the second half. Patrick Wild's late challenge caught a F.C. Copenhagen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Patrick Wild helped the player get up and apologised. In the 52nd minute Connor Froggatt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Toby Wiltshire saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Walter Silk who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 57thth minute tested the skills of Joe Naylor when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 59th minute Kenny Clegg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Toby Wiltshire saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Kenny Clegg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Toby Wiltshire made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jermaine Stone in the 63rd minute of play. In the 63rd match minute, FC Santa Coloma was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Denis Evans to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, F.C. Copenhagen's Joe Naylor got control of the ball when Denis Evans tried to sneak it across the goal line. F.C. Copenhagen's Joe Naylor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Denis Evans in the 68th minute of play. F.C. Copenhagen's Joe Naylor proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save F.C. Copenhagen from getting a goal against them. In the 71st minute, Walter Silk left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Santa Coloma fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. 75 minutes into the match, F.C. Copenhagen's goalkeeper Joe Naylor had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Walter Silk. In the 77th minute FC Santa Coloma were awarded a corner. Glenn Worrall went to the cornerflag to take it. FC Santa Coloma's Glenn Worrall was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Joe Naylor in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Patrick Wild sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Walter Silk took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Joe Naylor. Joe Naylor dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. During the 85th minute of the match Patrick Wild completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Patrick Wild a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. If Walter Silk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 91st minute, Denis Evans got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Denis Evans struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Joe Naylor didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Santa Coloma. When the final whistle sounded FC Santa Coloma left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than F.C. Copenhagen.
