After 25 played minutes, Bow's Stuart Scholes shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Darren Parry came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Bow reached it. Kenny Renwick hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Darren Parry took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robbie Alderson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 33 minutes, Joseph Button mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bow and the Newton Abbot players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 33 played minutes Bow got a freekick which was hit by Joseph Button. Stewart Preston received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Edward Fountain tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 38 minutes, Sammy Hardcastle managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bow's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sammy Hardcastle was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Newton Abbot booed when Bow was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joseph Button didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 47 minutes, Sammy Hardcastle managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bow's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sammy Hardcastle was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Edward Fountain showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zackary Billington, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. If Sammy Hardcastle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 74th minute of the match Miles Billington sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Edward Fountain skillfully saved the ball. In the 78th minute, Newton Abbot's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Robbie Alderson fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 91st minute of the game. One of Bow:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Newton Abbot:s goal. Edward Fountain had in the 93rdth minute some difficulties stopping Cody Newell's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 94 minutes had been played when some careless play by Bow's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Cody Newell was slow to take the kick. During this time Newton Abbot's players had a chance to rest. Robbie Alderson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Darren Parry tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Newton Abbot's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
