With an extended leg and a bit of luck Brandon Rush prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 16 minutes, Oliver Butcher mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Westcliff on Sea and the Malmesbury players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 18 minutes, Russ Brooks mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Malmesbury and the Westcliff on Sea players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Malmesbury getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Russ Brooks hit a great ball. If Mathias Hammarberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Westcliff on Sea fans' excitement grew in the 37th match minute when Westcliff on Sea's Mathias Hammarberg looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 41 minutes into the game, Westcliff on Sea's Louie Scargill nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Brandon Rush made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Amri Solihin was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Jamie Vine. Brandon Rush took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Howard Briggs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half Westcliff on Sea were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Teobald Gacki might have been able to make a better finish in the 51st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Brandon Rush. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Teobald Gacki ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 53rd minute of the match Stuart Frampton shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Brandon Rush showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Malmesbury's defense didn't have a chance, in the 55th minute, when Teobald Gacki scored to the left of an out of position Brandon Rush, making the score, 0-3. When the match clock showed 58 minutes, the score became 0-4 when Mathias Hammarberg sped through Malmesbury's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Brandon Rush. In the 62nd match minute, Malmesbury was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by CJ Gettins to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Howard Briggs in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Brandon Rush saved Malmesbury from getting behind. 71 minutes into the game, Westcliff on Sea's Mathias Hammarberg nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Brandon Rush made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. After having played for 75 minutes, Mathias Hammarberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Westcliff on Sea's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mathias Hammarberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 80th minute, Teobald Gacki fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Brandon Rush, passed just outside the right post. 83 minutes into the match, Malmesbury's goalkeeper Brandon Rush had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mathias Hammarberg. After having played for 85 minutes, Teobald Gacki managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brandon Rush made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Mathias Hammarberg sent off a good shot on target. Brandon Rush didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Oliver Butcher went, in the 96th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-7 was the resulting score. When the match was over Westcliff on Sea could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Malmesbury throughout the match.
