Arsen Sytnyk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tykhon Tsernienko, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Pavlo Zagorodniy's late challenge caught a Kozjatyn's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in Nijschankvychy FC Metalist's zone, Stepan Omelyanchuk stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Denys Konovalov came out of the goal and Stepan Omelyanchuk tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tykhon Tsernienko to strike the kick off in the second half. Anton Blavatsjkyi struck a weak shot in the 56th minute.
