With a little luck, FC Ternopil's Grygoriy Anischenko got control of the ball when Igor Stafiychuk tried to sneak it across the goal line. ФК Шахтер's Rodion Bagnyuk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dmytro Lapa in the 8th minute of play. Dmytro Lapa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodion Bagnyuk having to interfere. Vsevolod Zhula took the ball and in the 14 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rodion Bagnyuk. Rodion Bagnyuk dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Rodion Bagnyuk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vsevolod Zhula in the 27th minute of play. Rodion Bagnyuk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vsevolod Zhula, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Grygoriy Anischenko took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Denys Bezsmertnyi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vsevolod Zhula in the 46th minute of play forced ФК Шахтер's goalkeeper Rodion Bagnyuk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of FC Ternopil booed when ФК Шахтер was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nazariy Kuprienko didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 48 minutes, Vsevolod Zhula managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Ternopil's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vsevolod Zhula was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The ФК Шахтер players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. FC Ternopil were winning 0-1.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Igor Stafiychuk in the 57th minute of play forced FC Ternopil's goalkeeper Grygoriy Anischenko to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Roman Staruschenko hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. In the 64th minute, Dmytro Lapa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rodion Bagnyuk came out of the goal in the 65th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Ternopil's Vsevolod Zhula. But to his dismay, Vsevolod Zhula quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Denys Bezsmertnyi in the 78th minute of play forced FC Ternopil's goalkeeper Grygoriy Anischenko to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Dmytro Lapa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in ФК Шахтер's zone, Vsevolod Zhula stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rodion Bagnyuk came out of the goal and Vsevolod Zhula tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Denys Bezsmertnyi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Grygoriy Anischenko having to interfere. Grygoriy Anischenko showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nazariy Kuprienko, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. FC Ternopil walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
