Philadelphia Union FC were awarded a corner in the 13th minute after Skadowsk's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Denys Babak took the corner. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Humberto Saron in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Yevgen Zavershenyuk prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Philadelphia Union FC getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Gaudencio Bermudez hit a great ball. In the 33rd minute, Humberto Saron made a precise shot to the right of Yevgen Zavershenyuk. Skadowsk's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Teobald Siembab was extremely unlucky when he, in the 36th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Philadelphia Union FC's Humberto Saron got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 39thth minute of the game Humberto Saron who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Skadowsk's Yevgen Zavershenyuk was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Humberto Saron put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Yevgen Zavershenyuk. Humberto Saron blasted a shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Yevgen Zavershenyuk having to make a save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Humberto Saron in the 46th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Yevgen Zavershenyuk prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 47th minute, Arkhyp Shepkovskyi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Yevgen Zavershenyuk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Humberto Saron, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mykola Petrenko made a kick off. Humberto Saron sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Humberto Saron came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Philadelphia Union FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Humberto Saron couldn't finish the play. Yevgen Zavershenyuk showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Humberto Saron in the 60th minute of the match. Philadelphia Union FC made a substitution. Myroslav Zanevskyi replaced Teobald Siembab. Skadowsk's Yevgen Zavershenyuk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Myroslav Zanevskyi in the 70th minute of play. Philadelphia Union FC's Dmytro Zhak proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Philadelphia Union FC from getting a goal against them. 78 minutes had been played when some careless play by Skadowsk's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Angelo Freitas was slow to take the kick. During this time Philadelphia Union FC's players had a chance to rest. Domenico Costacurta made a great header on Philadelphia Union FC's corner, it was just that Skadowsk's Yevgen Zavershenyuk managed to reach the ball for a save. If Myroslav Zanevskyi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 83rd minute, Domenico Costacurta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Philadelphia Union FC booed when Skadowsk was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sergiy Symonenko didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 91st minute of the game Vladyslav Chornyj made a throw-in which Arkhyp Shepkovskyi played forward. Yevgen Zavershenyuk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Myroslav Zanevskyi in the 93rd minute of play. Yevgen Zavershenyuk stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Myroslav Zanevskyi's shot from short distance in the 97th minute. When the referee ended the match the Philadelphia Union FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
