Nova Odessa's Yakiv Bykaniv got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mykhaylo Lelyuk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pavlo Rozlach, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Nova Odessa getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Valeriy Ilyuk hit a great ball. After 39 minutes, Valeriy Ilyuk mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nova Odessa and the FC Lviv players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 39th minute, Valeriy Ilyuk hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pavlo Rozlach in the 46th minute of play forced FC Lviv's goalkeeper Mykhaylo Lelyuk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After a defensive mix-up in Nova Odessa's zone, Emil Veenema stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tykhon Predchuk came out of the goal and Emil Veenema tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tykhon Predchuk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emil Veenema, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 95th match minute, Nova Odessa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pavlo Rozlach to maneuver through the defense. FC Lviv's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Nova Odessa had won, even though FC Lviv had held more of the ball.
