The referee ignored Синій's protests and gave Matviy Pavleschuk a yellow card for diving instead. In the 2nd match minute, Синій was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matviy Pavleschuk to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marjan Shkarupa in the 7th minute of play forced Синій's goalkeeper Sergiy Lepyavko to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Orest Tovt hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Lev Nazarchuk struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Maxym Kozhemyachenko didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Синій. In the 16th minute, Anatoliy Rukavytsya ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sergiy Lepyavko was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Orest Tovt hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. When Illja Petrenko came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Balaklija fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Illja Petrenko couldn't finish the play. Maxym Kozhemyachenko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matviy Pavleschuk in the 25th minute of play. In the 32nd minute, Matviy Pavleschuk got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Illja Petrenko kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Orest Tovt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Matviy Pavleschuk received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Maxym Kozhemyachenko tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 38 minutes, Demjan Sautin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Balaklija and the Синій players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 38th minute, Demjan Sautin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Matviy Pavleschuk managed to get in a good position for a shot. Синій's supporters rose to their feet, but Matviy Pavleschuk was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Maxym Kozhemyachenko breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 41 minutes, Lev Nazarchuk managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Синій's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lev Nazarchuk was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Matviy Pavleschuk struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Maxym Kozhemyachenko didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Синій. If Lev Nazarchuk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 48th match minute, Balaklija was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maxym Paraschiy to maneuver through the defense. In the 48th minute the ball was on its way in behind Balaklija's goalkeeper Maxym Kozhemyachenko, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Anatoliy Rukavytsya stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Roman Bryl kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, Balaklija's Illja Petrenko tried to score from far away in the 57th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Matviy Pavleschuk took the ball and in the 63 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Maxym Kozhemyachenko. Maxym Kozhemyachenko dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Sergiy Lepyavko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Artem Kozlyuk in the 70th minute of play. If Lev Nazarchuk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marjan Shkarupa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sergiy Lepyavko having to interfere. In the 83rd minute, Matviy Pavleschuk left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Синій fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. Roman Bryl struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Anatoliy Rukavytsya got free with Sergiy Lepyavko in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
