The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 12th match minute, Meteor was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kostyantyn Zavershenyuk to maneuver through the defense. Ruslan Gabovda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pavlo Momotenko having to interfere. 16 minutes into the match, Kızıltepe Belediyespor's goal looked a bit too open when Sebastian Dammer came free, but Pavlo Momotenko reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 21 played minutes Meteor got a freekick which was hit by Artur Krukovets. Kızıltepe Belediyespor's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Meteor the free kick. 45 minutes into the match, Sebastian Dammer had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pavlo Momotenko. Kızıltepe Belediyespor's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sebastian Dammer was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. After 47 played minutes Meteor got a freekick which was hit by Artur Krukovets. After the first half Meteor were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Flávio Corte-Real to strike the kick off in the second half. Pavlo Momotenko showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marjan Zdebskyi, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. In the 53rd minute, Paul Macamete hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Through an outstanding action, after 56 minutes, Pavlo Momotenko successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Tykhon Famulyak received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Pavlo Momotenko tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
