After 7 minutes, Yuriy Starostyak mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kyiv and the FC MINAY players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Kyiv's Yuriy Starostyak got a free kick in the 7th minute. Corrado Coletti took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 8th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Siro Nastasio. Kyiv's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Kyiv's Siro Nastasio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Corrado Coletti in the 10th minute of play. Demjan Protsyk received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Rostyslav Tarakhtiy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The attack was good, but when Marko Bochkur in the 16th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marko Bochkur in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Siro Nastasio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Yakiv Gavryushov during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 18th minute of the game. One of FC MINAY:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Kyiv:s goal. The goalkeeper, Rostyslav Tarakhtiy, was totally fooled by Kyiv's Matthew Leach, who 19 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Matthew Leach received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Rostyslav Tarakhtiy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Siro Nastasio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marko Bochkur in the 24th minute of the match. With 28 minutes on the clock, Joosep Lõugas commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Marko Bochkur sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marko Bochkur in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Siro Nastasio saved Kyiv from getting behind. Matthew Leach fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rostyslav Tarakhtiy having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Kyiv's Yuriy Starostyak got a free kick in the 45th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Matthew Leach made a kick off. If Corrado Coletti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marko Bochkur in the 53rd minute of play forced Kyiv's goalkeeper Siro Nastasio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 55 minutes into the game, Bennvar Nobel cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Siro Nastasio was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to FC MINAY getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Taras Sanzhar hit a great ball. After 67 played minutes Kyiv got a freekick which was hit by Valeriy Derypapa. A hard shot by Rob Tynan from long distance, 70 minutes into the match, got Siro Nastasio's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Thanks to some nice moves Marko Bochkur could shoot a difficult shot in the 73rd minute, which Siro Nastasio however easily saved by the left post. In the 75th minute Matthew Leach shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rostyslav Tarakhtiy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kyiv were awarded a corner in the 76th minute after FC MINAY's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Demjan Protsyk took the corner. The corner led Kyiv's Demjan Protsyk to fire away a dangerous shot which Rostyslav Tarakhtiy despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 78th minute, Ruslan Samoilenko hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 80th minute Marko Bochkur shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Siro Nastasio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kyiv's Platon Medvid was substituted for Yuriy Starostyak. FC MINAY's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Corrado Coletti in the 85th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as FC MINAY's Marko Bochkur slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Siro Nastasio. That made the score 1-3 after 87 minutes of play. After a rather tough play, Kyiv's Viktor Mazepa got a free kick in the 89th minute. Marko Bochkur might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Siro Nastasio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marko Bochkur ran back to his position shaking his head.
