Mehmet Osman Barçın showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. In the 20th minute Mehmet Osman Barçın shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hacı İlbilge saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mehmet Osman Barçın in the 22nd minute of play forced Çaykur Rize Spor's goalkeeper Hacı İlbilge to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match clock showed 23 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Mehmet Osman Barçın sped through Çaykur Rize Spor's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Hacı İlbilge. Gaziosmanpaşa SK's Birol Erçelik quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Erkin Özbek, made in the 30th minute of the game. Hacı İlbilge made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mehmet Osman Barçın in the 34th minute of play. In the 34th minute Atilla Kağan Adak suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Haşmet Ekin during the 34th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Çaykur Rize Spor getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Haşmet Ekin hit a great ball. Gaziosmanpaşa SK's attentive Paşa Batıkan managed to snatch the ball when Seyfettin Ilgaz made a throw-in in the 38th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Çaykur Rize Spor's zone, Mehmet Osman Barçın stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hacı İlbilge came out of the goal and Mehmet Osman Barçın tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Akil Sonalp fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hacı İlbilge having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kadim Dilazad stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Kadim Dilazad fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bekir Bilkan having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Paşa Batıkan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gaziosmanpaşa SK's supporters rose to their feet, but Paşa Batıkan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hacı İlbilge breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hacı İlbilge showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Akil Sonalp, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. In the 64th minute, Mehmet Osman Barçın made a precise shot to the right of Hacı İlbilge. Çaykur Rize Spor's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oğuzer Lami in the 69th minute of play forced Gaziosmanpaşa SK's goalkeeper Bekir Bilkan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Seyfettin Ilgaz made in the 79th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Gaziosmanpaşa SK's Paşa Batıkan. Mehmet Osman Barçın received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Hacı İlbilge tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Paşa Batıkan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Gaziosmanpaşa SK fully deserved thier win.
