Spectators: 7135 (Terracing: 5353, Seating: 1641, VIP seats: 141) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Feyyaz Dinçay took the kick off in the first half of the match. Ali Behzat Tamkoç recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Aysan Şenaltan was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 8 minutes into the match. In the 7th minute, one of Fenerbahçe:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Fenerbahçe. Battal Cüneyt Berksu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mustafa Hamit Uğuray went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. A collision led to Fenerbahçe getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Yaser Kadri hit a great ball. 22 minutes into the match, Fenerbahçe's goal looked a bit too open when Feyyaz Dinçay came free, but Battal Cüneyt Berksu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 24th minute, Zekeriya Rafih left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Fenerbahçe fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Battal Cüneyt Berksu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Feyyaz Dinçay, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 31 minutes, Ali Behzat Tamkoç mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fenerbahçe and the Izmit players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 30 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Fenerbahçe! Fenerbahçe:s Battal Cüneyt Berksu showed great skill when he stopped Yağızhan Ozansoy:s penalty. Battal Cüneyt Berksu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mustafa Hamit Uğuray in the 34th minute. Izmit's Barlas Serbülend got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 41 played minutes Fenerbahçe got a freekick which was hit by Lemi Ertuna. Mustafa Hamit Uğuray received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Battal Cüneyt Berksu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Afşar Ustam had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Zekeriya Rafih made a kick off. After having played for 54 minutes, Zekeriya Rafih managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fenerbahçe's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zekeriya Rafih was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 55th minute, Doruk Baştuğ hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Murat Selim Veli came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by Fenerbahçe's Zekeriya Rafih. But to his dismay, Zekeriya Rafih quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. After 64 played minutes Fenerbahçe got a freekick which was hit by Deniz Dirican. The supporters of Fenerbahçe booed when Izmit was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Doruk Baştuğ didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zekeriya Rafih scored 2-3 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Murat Selim Veli, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Lemi Ertuna charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lemi Ertuna the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Lemi Ertuna kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mustafa Hamit Uğuray in the 78th minute of play forced Fenerbahçe's goalkeeper Battal Cüneyt Berksu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 78 minutes into the game, Izmit's Mustafa Hamit Uğuray nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Battal Cüneyt Berksu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-3. In the 88th minute of the match Fenerbahçe got a corner. Izmit's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Afşar Ustam ran over to the corner to take the kick. Fenerbahçe's Afşar Ustam was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Murat Selim Veli in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Izmit were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
