When Rafet Sezal fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fenerbahçe FK's protests and gave Rafet Sezal a yellow card for diving instead. In the 51st minute, Rafet Sezal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Haluk Çelen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Fenerbahçe FK's zone, Raimund Wallenhorst stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Haluk Çelen came out of the goal and Raimund Wallenhorst tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Haluk Çelen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Radowit Wierzbicki, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pars Akaltan kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Haluk Çelen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Radowit Wierzbicki in the 88th minute of play. Radowit Wierzbicki blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Haluk Çelen having to make a save.
