In the 4th minute, Genc FK's Şükrü Tekmil ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Vahdet Öz. Vahdet Öz yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. After some careless play in the Genc FK defense, Cüneyt Rukni kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ahmet Reha Tümay. The Genc FK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ahmet Reha Tümay should have stopped the shot. EDİRNE SK's Vahdet Öz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save EDİRNE SK from getting a goal against them. 18 minutes into the game, Demirhan Eracar was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Genc FK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave EDİRNE SK the free kick. In the 18th minute, one of Genc FK:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Genc FK. The referee gave EDİRNE SK a penalty, 20 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Cüneyt Rukni, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Genc FK's Ahmet Reha Tümay. 1-2. With an all-out effort, Genc FK's Vahdet Öz threw himself towards the right post 28 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Abdurrahman Gazir, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Halit Fahri Süvarioğlu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ahmet Reha Tümay having to interfere. Ahmet Reha Tümay made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Atalay Budaklı in the 36th minute of play. When Atalay Budaklı came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the EDİRNE SK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Atalay Budaklı couldn't finish the play. In the 41st minute, Şükrü Tekmil got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Vahdet Öz made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Şükrü Tekmil sent off a good shot on target.

The wind increased when Halit Fahri Süvarioğlu made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Yunus Bayraktar cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Vahdet Öz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Halit Fahri Süvarioğlu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vahdet Öz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yunus Bayraktar in the 66th minute of the match. Halit Fahri Süvarioğlu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ahmet Reha Tümay read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. EDİRNE SK's Vahdet Öz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Çelebi Hilal in the 71st minute of play. Vahdet Öz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abdurrahman Gazir in the 76th minute of play. In the 78th minute Çelebi Hilal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vahdet Öz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arif Nihat Korucu hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Halit Fahri Süvarioğlu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ahmet Reha Tümay having to interfere. In the 83rd minute, Habib Kose hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vahdet Öz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Şükrü Tekmil, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 90 minutes into the match, Abdurrahman Gazir notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of EDİRNE SK's Vahdet Öz. Vahdet Öz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Genc FK were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of EDİRNE SK for a fine match.
