The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Işık Vasfi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Şükrü Tekmil's shot from short distance in the 4th minute. İsrafil Yöner received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Ahmet Reha Tümay tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Genc FK's Ahmet Reha Tümay proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Genc FK from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice moves İsrafil Yöner could shoot a difficult shot in the 17th minute, which Ahmet Reha Tümay however easily saved by the left post. 25 minutes into the match, İsrafil Yöner notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Genc FK's Ahmet Reha Tümay. Ahmet Reha Tümay was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Şükrü Tekmil took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Işık Vasfi. The Gökcebey fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Işık Vasfi should have stopped the shot. Işık Vasfi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Çelebi Hilal in the 43rd minute of play. 46 minutes into the match, Genc FK's Şükrü Tekmil sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Işık Vasfi narrowly saved just below the crossbar.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Çelebi Hilal to strike the kick off in the second half. Şükrü Tekmil took the ball and in the 58 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Işık Vasfi. Rıfat Zabit didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Behiç Muharrem during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 84 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Gökcebey! İsrafil Yöner took the ball and in the 93 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ahmet Reha Tümay. In the 98th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gökcebey's goalkeeper Işık Vasfi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Şükrü Tekmil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 100th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Genc FK supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Genc FK would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
