The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Özgür Gökyüzü in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Günay Tezay saved Akcadag FK from getting behind. Özgür Gökyüzü recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Özgür Gökyüzü had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Ferhan Mertoğul managed to get in a good position for a shot. Denizlispor SK's supporters rose to their feet, but Ferhan Mertoğul was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ferhan Mertoğul blasted a shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Günay Tezay having to make a save. Ferhan Mertoğul sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 48th minute Batıkan Çağaçar managed to get in a great position but fired away a sharp shot that went outside the goal on the goalie's right hand side. It could just as well have been a goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Özgür Gökyüzü stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th of the match, Özgür Gökyüzü tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Günay Tezay got in the way and made a wonderful save. If Ferhan Mertoğul had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Özgür Gökyüzü sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 59th minute, Adil Kazakhan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Günay Tezay showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Özgür Gökyüzü, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. 65 minutes into the game, Denizlispor SK's Özgür Gökyüzü nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Günay Tezay made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Günay Tezay showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Özgür Gökyüzü in the 69th minute of the match. 74 minutes into the match, Akcadag FK's goal looked a bit too open when Özgür Gökyüzü came free, but Günay Tezay reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 75th minute, Ferhan Mertoğul got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 77 played minutes Akcadag FK got a freekick which was hit by Rahmi Tecen. In the 78th minute of the match Osman Urkan sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Günay Tezay skillfully saved the ball. In the last second Günay Tezay throw himself and got hold of the ball when Özgür Gökyüzü in the 86thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Şenel Ersevim hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Çelebi Sayın took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 90th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for İskender Baki Özdemir. Denizlispor SK's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Turgut Kalhan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
