The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Sabit Durucan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fethiyespor's Özen Ergüvenç played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sabit Durucan in the 10th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Şeref Uğursan managed to get in a good position for a shot. BAYERMÜNİH's supporters rose to their feet, but Şeref Uğursan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Özen Ergüvenç breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Abay Osmanlıoğlu kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Arif Ensar Özkar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fethiyespor's supporters rose to their feet, but Arif Ensar Özkar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Erdi Erengüç breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 21st minute, Bora Han Kamaci hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 30th minute Sabit Durucan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Özen Ergüvenç saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sabit Durucan struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Özen Ergüvenç didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for BAYERMÜNİH. Gürhan Sargan kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Erdi Erengüç made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Mustafa Birol Gülle sent off a good shot on target. Sabit Durucan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Özen Ergüvenç having to make a save. In the 45th minute, Sabit Durucan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sabit Durucan kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Özkan Serol to make the kick off. Sabit Durucan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Özen Ergüvenç tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, BAYERMÜNİH's Gürsel Tolun got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Sabit Durucan charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sabit Durucan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 65th minute, Sabit Durucan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 69thth minute of the game Özkan Serol who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but BAYERMÜNİH's Erdi Erengüç was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Sabit Durucan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Özen Ergüvenç having to interfere. Fethiyespor's Özen Ergüvenç played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fetih Boğatekin in the 74th minute of play. Özen Ergüvenç came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by BAYERMÜNİH's Sabit Durucan. But to his dismay, Sabit Durucan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Şeref Uğursan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Özen Ergüvenç tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in BAYERMÜNİH's zone, Özkan Serol stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Erdi Erengüç came out of the goal and Özkan Serol tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The BAYERMÜNİH supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing BAYERMÜNİH would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
