Spectators: 6649 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1649, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Kandemir Ilgaz took the kick off in the first half of the match. When Sabit Kudret came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Izmit fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sabit Kudret couldn't finish the play. Semi Yalınay's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 5thth minute, Orhan Refettin skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Kandemir Ilgaz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kandemir Ilgaz might have been able to make a better finish in the 9th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Orhan Refettin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kandemir Ilgaz ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Izmit getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Hakkı Devrim Torkal hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Semi Yalınay got free with Orhan Refettin in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Orhan Refettin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kandemir Ilgaz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Izmit's Mevlüt Çetinsu got a free kick in the 24th minute. Orhan Refettin made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Semi Yalınay sent off a good shot on target. After taking down the ball on Izmit's corner Tayfur Keçecioğlu fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Baha Balabey quite easily take care of the ball. Sabit Kudret took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Baha Balabey. Baha Balabey dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Semi Yalınay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 42nd minute Kandemir Ilgaz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Orhan Refettin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Kandemir Ilgaz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sabit Kudret to strike the kick off in the second half. If Sabit Kudret had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Kandemir Ilgaz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Orhan Refettin was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. In the 67th match minute, Izmit was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tayfur Keçecioğlu to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Saricakaya FK's Uluç Ünver tried to score from far away in the 68th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Semi Yalınay's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Orhan Refettin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. Bahattin Uluşahin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kandemir Ilgaz in the 74th minute of play forced Izmit's goalkeeper Orhan Refettin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Izmit getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Hakkı Devrim Torkal hit a great ball. Kandemir Ilgaz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Orhan Refettin having to interfere. 80 minutes into the game, Mevlüt Çetinsu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Izmit's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Saricakaya FK the free kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Semi Yalınay in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Orhan Refettin saved Izmit from getting behind. In the 86th minute, Bahattin Uluşahin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Semi Yalınay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Orhan Refettin having to interfere.
