The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Özal Özdemir who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 3rdth minute tested the skills of Batıray Ushan when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Enis Behiç Canfeda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aydemir Özyay, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 6 minutes into the match, Savur's goal looked a bit too open when Sami Mukremin came free, but Enis Behiç Canfeda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Genclerbirligi defense, Özal Özdemir kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Batıray Ushan. The Genclerbirligi fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Batıray Ushan should have stopped the shot. If İlbey Türev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 15th match minute, Genclerbirligi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mustafa Emre Özdinç to maneuver through the defense. The corner led Genclerbirligi's Anıl Arda Doğanay to fire away a dangerous shot which Enis Behiç Canfeda despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Enis Behiç Canfeda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ahmet Yahya Ongunes in the 27th minute of the match. Batıray Ushan made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Özal Özdemir sent off a good shot on target. Savur's Gürkan Ülkümen got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Batıray Ushan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Enes Altıncığlu in the 33rd minute of the match. Enes Altıncığlu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

In the 58th minute, Özal Özdemir ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Batıray Ushan was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. Genclerbirligi's Batıray Ushan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enes Altıncığlu in the 63rd minute of play. Özal Özdemir might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Batıray Ushan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Özal Özdemir ran back to his position shaking his head. When Özal Özdemir came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Savur fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Özal Özdemir couldn't finish the play. İlbey Türev received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Batıray Ushan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mustafa Cumhur Hezarfen kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. If Özal Özdemir had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Savur fans' excitement grew in the 74th match minute when Savur's Özal Özdemir looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 5-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Savur's supporters crossed their fingers, but Enes Altıncığlu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
