When Cebrail Onural came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Galatasaray JK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cebrail Onural couldn't finish the play. After having played for 18 minutes, İlbey Tardu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Galatasaray JK's supporters crossed their fingers, but İlbey Tardu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mansur Ulukan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cebrail Onural, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cebrail Onural sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If İlbey Tardu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mansur Ulukan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from İlbey Tardu in the 35th minute of the match. Mansur Ulukan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from İlbey Tardu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cebrail Onural fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mansur Ulukan having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Altay FK's zone, Vatan Yazıcı stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mansur Ulukan came out of the goal and Vatan Yazıcı tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If İlbey Tardu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cebrail Onural made a kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Cebrail Onural dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Mansur Ulukan, 0-1. Fedai Ulum took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yavuz Selim İlkay, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 62 minutes into the match, Altay FK's Yavuz Selim İlkay sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fedai Ulum narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With 65 minutes on the clock, Kurtuluş Salat commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 65th minute, one of Altay FK:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Altay FK. When the match had been going on for 68 minutes, Galatasaray JK's Mazhar Sancar got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Mansur Ulukan. If Cebrail Onural had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. İlbey Tardu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Mansur Ulukan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cebrail Onural in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mansur Ulukan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. İlbey Tardu struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Mansur Ulukan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Galatasaray JK. Galatasaray JK's Cebrail Onural got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. İlbey Tardu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Galatasaray JK's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
