When Affan Ramiz fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored GALATASARAY's protests and gave Affan Ramiz a yellow card for diving instead. Asaf Akdemirci blasted a shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bayhan Cihanmert having to make a save. In the 6th match minute, GALATASARAY was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paşa Ali Taykara to maneuver through the defense. Bayhan Cihanmert took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mustafa Birol Yalavaç, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gencay Afşar kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Mustafa Birol Yalavaç sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Ceyhun Övünç kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Rahim Bir. That made the score 1-0 in the 23 minute of play. The referee felt a red card was in order, 28 minutes into the game, when Mustafa Necati Erbaş put in a rough tackle. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gencay Afşar during the 34th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 34 played minutes Bakirköy got a freekick which was hit by Gencay Afşar. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Eser Eygül managed to get in a good position for a shot. GALATASARAY's supporters rose to their feet, but Eser Eygül was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rahim Bir breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Selim Hiçyılmaz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rahim Bir having to interfere. The supporters of Bakirköy booed when GALATASARAY was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sancarbey Atacan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ceyhun Övünç's late challenge caught a Bakirköy's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ceyhun Övünç helped the player get up and apologised. Ceyhun Övünç hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mustafa Birol Yalavaç made a kick off. Rahim Bir showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Affan Ramiz, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eser Eygül in the 58th minute of play forced Bakirköy's goalkeeper Rahim Bir to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, GALATASARAY's Affan Ramiz got a free kick in the 79th minute. Gencay Afşar struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Bayhan Cihanmert didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bakirköy. Bakirköy's Rahim Bir played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eser Eygül in the 89th minute of play.
