The tension between the Afyon SK and the Gölköy players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 88th match minute, Afyon SK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Refik Özgenalp to maneuver through the defense. 95 minutes into the game, Arif Bilge Tuğrul was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gölköy's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Afyon SK the free kick. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Afyon SK fans cheered their team off the field, for while Gölköy had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
