The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Okmeydani getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. After a defensive mix-up in Akcaabat's zone, Ferdi Vefi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Utku İzgi came out of the goal and Ferdi Vefi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 18th minute, Okmeydani's Akay Satvet ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Utku İzgi. Utku İzgi yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. 21 minutes into the match, Akcaabat's goal looked a bit too open when Akay Satvet came free, but Utku İzgi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Utku İzgi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Akay Satvet in the 24th minute of play. 24 minutes into the game, Kudret Uma was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Utku İzgi went to the wrong direction when Kürşat Saadettin was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. 47 minutes into the game, Akcaabat's Ziya Sayman nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Faruk Nafiz Ekemen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.
