Spectators: 6995 (Terracing: 5346, Seating: 1639, VIP seats: 10) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Vahap İlmen kicked off to start the match. In the 3rd minute, Mehmet Oğuz Atik got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Aziz Şinas struck a weak shot in the 5th minute. Tamer Akyıldız didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fener Bahçe. If Tayfun Uzkan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Şadi Tevfik showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tayfun Uzkan, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. In the 11th minute, Ensar Zülfikar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tayfun Uzkan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Şadi Tevfik tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Ali Faruk Besim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Şadi Tevfik took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vahap İlmen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Aziz Şinas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Aziz Şinas came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Fener Bahçe fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aziz Şinas couldn't finish the play. The crowd rose to their feet as Ali Faruk Besim kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Tamer Akyıldız. That made the score 1-0 in the 48 minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Güntekin Çimen took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 53rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Şadi Tevfik. Fener Bahçe's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 55th minute, Aziz Şinas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Fener Bahçe fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Ali Faruk Besim recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 64th minute of the match, Vahap İlmen tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Şadi Tevfik saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. If Vahap İlmen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ali Faruk Besim might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tamer Akyıldız. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ali Faruk Besim ran back to his position shaking his head. After some careless play in the İstiklal ASM defense, Aziz Şinas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tamer Akyıldız. The İstiklal ASM fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tamer Akyıldız should have stopped the shot. Ali Faruk Besim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 81 played minutes İstiklal ASM got a freekick which was hit by Barbaros Kırca. In the 82nd minute, Ali Faruk Besim made a precise shot to the right of Tamer Akyıldız. İstiklal ASM's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. In the 85th minute Aziz Şinas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tamer Akyıldız saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ensar Zülfikar charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ensar Zülfikar the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ensar Zülfikar hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Fener Bahçe's Ali Faruk Besim got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Fener Bahçe fully deserved thier win.
