The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Serdar Kurceren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Güray Temizöz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Agah Timurtas who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 7thth minute tested the skills of Sungur Taşel when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Aydın Kağan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aydın Kağan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sungur Taşel having to interfere. When Gömec's Hasan Hüseyin Haliloğlu in the 18th minute got a chance for a shot 18th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The audience thought a goal was coming when Agah Timurtas got free with Sungur Taşel in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Serdar Kurceren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hasan Hüseyin Haliloğlu in the 32nd minute of the match. 33 minutes into the match, Eceabat's goal looked a bit too open when Hasan Hüseyin Haliloğlu came free, but Serdar Kurceren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 34th minute Aydın Kağan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sungur Taşel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Güray Temizöz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hasan Hüseyin Haliloğlu was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agah Timurtas in the 54th minute of play forced Gömec's goalkeeper Sungur Taşel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aydın Kağan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Sungur Taşel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sungur Taşel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aydın Kağan's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. Sungur Taşel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agah Timurtas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Aydın Kağan in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sungur Taşel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A hard shot 79 in the game by Güray Temizöz from a close distance when the talented Serdar Kurceren managed to make a qualified save. Eceabat's players were relieved. After a rather tough play, Gömec's Hazım Yalazan got a free kick in the 81st minute. 86 minutes into the game, Osman Yurdaer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gömec's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Eceabat the free kick. The supporters of Eceabat booed when Gömec was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Osman Yurdaer didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Gömec's Levent Yılğıralp tried to score from far away in the 95th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Gömec walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
