İsmet Sertuğ charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed İsmet Sertuğ the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Gaziosmanpasa SK's İsmet Sertuğ got a free kick in the 19th minute. İsmet Açıkgün was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 29 minutes into the match. 28 minutes into the game, one of çonaspor:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 31 minutes, Gaziosmanpasa SK's Servet Gazel got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Ahmet Gündüz Akbaşak. Ahmet İlke Perk hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. If Bilge Ege had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. Bilge Ege might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ali Asım Talik. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bilge Ege ran back to his position shaking his head. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Berkan Namal made a kick off. Bilge Ege received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Ali Asım Talik tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bilge Ege fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ali Asım Talik having to interfere. Ahmet İlke Perk's late challenge caught a çonaspor's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ahmet İlke Perk helped the player get up and apologised. After 57 played minutes Gaziosmanpasa SK got a freekick which was hit by Ahmet İlke Perk. Nejat Çiftçi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ali Asım Talik having to interfere. Burhan Türker might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ali Asım Talik. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Burhan Türker ran back to his position shaking his head. çonaspor's Ahmet Gündüz Akbaşak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Berkan Namal in the 68th minute of play. Gaziosmanpasa SK's Ali Asım Talik proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save Gaziosmanpasa SK from getting a goal against them. Berkan Namal took the ball and in the 76 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ahmet Gündüz Akbaşak. Ahmet Gündüz Akbaşak dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. In the 80th minute Berkan Namal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ahmet Gündüz Akbaşak saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bilge Ege fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ali Asım Talik having to interfere. Ahmet İlke Perk got his second yellow card in the match during the 83rd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 84 minutes, Burhan Türker mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the çonaspor and the Gaziosmanpasa SK players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Gaziosmanpasa SK booed when çonaspor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Burhan Türker didn't get a good kick on the ball. 90 minutes into the match, Gaziosmanpasa SK's goalkeeper Ali Asım Talik had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Burhan Türker.
