Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Igdir's supporters rose to their feet, but Şansal Özdurdu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gafur Orcun breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 13th minute Mustafa Yaşar Eralkan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abay Türev saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Abdulhamit Sarp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind posofspor's goalkeeper Gafur Orcun, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gafur Orcun made an important save on a dangerous shot by Uğuralp Baray in the 36th minute. Şanver Şirvan came free with the goalkeeper in the 37th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Gafur Orcun could save by the left post. A collision led to posofspor getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Osman Ali Ertüze hit a great ball. 41 minutes into the match, posofspor's goal looked a bit too open when Şansal Özdurdu came free, but Gafur Orcun reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Osman Ali Ertüze's late challenge caught a Igdir's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Osman Ali Ertüze helped the player get up and apologised. After 44 played minutes posofspor got a freekick which was hit by Osman Ali Ertüze. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Abdulhamit Sarp stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The long shot by Ali Kürşat Tezcan in the 65th minute really tested Abay Türev's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nazım Gariboğlu got free with Abay Türev in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Uğuralp Baray's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gafur Orcun read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. Gafur Orcun showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Uğuralp Baray, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Uğuralp Baray recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
