If Sadri Erdoğdu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cumhur Yalkı fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kamer Hürmüz having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ahmet Yahya Taşkınay in the 18th minute of play forced Borussia Dortmund's goalkeeper Kamer Hürmüz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cumhur Yalkı kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Kamer Hürmüz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reşat Sümre, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cumhur Yalkı stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ahmet Yahya Taşkınay could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Kamer Hürmüz made a huge save. Kamer Hürmüz made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Ahmet Yahya Taşkınay sent off a good shot on target. Pendik's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Borussia Dortmund the free kick. After 71 played minutes Pendik got a freekick which was hit by Reşat Sümre. In the 72nd minute of the match Cabbar Tamkut shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Haluk Hidayettin showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cumhur Yalkı in the 74th minute of play forced Borussia Dortmund's goalkeeper Kamer Hürmüz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cumhur Yalkı might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kamer Hürmüz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cumhur Yalkı ran back to his position shaking his head. When the match was over Pendik could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Borussia Dortmund throughout the match.
