With an all-out effort, Bozkurt FK's Eralp Özdel threw himself towards the right post 9 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Doğuş Tuğaltay, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 16 minutes into the match, Gelibolu's Şahin Yalçın sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Göktürk Raşit narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Bozkurt FK's Göktürk Raşit played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Batı Yalaz in the 44th minute of play. 47 minutes into the match, Gelibolu's goal looked a bit too open when Doğuş Tuğaltay came free, but Eralp Özdel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Doğuş Tuğaltay made a kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ferman Yalvaç during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Doğuş Tuğaltay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Göktürk Raşit stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Batı Yalaz's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. 88 minutes into the match, Batı Yalaz dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Göktürk Raşit, 0-1. An unexpected shot in the 94th minute by Şahin Yalçın got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side.
