Kars's supporters rose to their feet, but Ahmet Reha Sadri was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sertaç Besim breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ahmet Reha Sadri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sertaç Besim having to interfere. Ahmet Reha Sadri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Binali Ünzil kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Sertaç Besim. That made the score 1-0 in the 14 minute of play. Turabi Tanuğur scored 1-1 in the 19th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Varol Kaşif, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ahmet Reha Sadri scored 2-1 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sertaç Besim, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Binali Ünzil received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Sertaç Besim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Turabi Tanuğur in the 30th minute of play forced Kars's goalkeeper Varol Kaşif to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Ergin Dilşah came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Gerze fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ergin Dilşah couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Binali Ünzil in the 34th minute of play forced Gerze's goalkeeper Sertaç Besim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ahmet Reha Sadri could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Sertaç Besim made a huge save. Ensar Aktürk's late challenge caught a Gerze's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ensar Aktürk helped the player get up and apologised. Ensar Aktürk kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Ergin Dilşah fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Varol Kaşif having to interfere. Varol Kaşif showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ergin Dilşah, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Turabi Tanuğur to strike the kick off in the second half. Binali Ünzil received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Sertaç Besim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 57th minute, Binali Ünzil got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Gerze's zone, Ahmet Reha Sadri stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sertaç Besim came out of the goal and Ahmet Reha Sadri tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Binali Ünzil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Binali Ünzil in the 63rd minute of play forced Gerze's goalkeeper Sertaç Besim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 66 minutes into the match, Gerze's goal looked a bit too open when Ahmet Reha Sadri came free, but Sertaç Besim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kars's Binali Ünzil got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ergin Dilşah's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Varol Kaşif read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. After having played for 84 minutes, Binali Ünzil managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kars's supporters crossed their fingers, but Binali Ünzil was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 85 minutes into the game, Ahmet İlke Sağınç was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gerze's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kars the free kick. Ahmet İlke Sağınç hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. The supporters of Gerze booed when Kars was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Binali Ünzil didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sertaç Besim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ahmet Reha Sadri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ahmet Reha Sadri in the 93rd minute of play forced Gerze's goalkeeper Sertaç Besim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 95th minute Binali Ünzil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sertaç Besim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ahmet Reha Sadri in the 97th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sertaç Besim prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
