İlkan Ayvazoğlu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Cemil Arıbaş tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ali Asım Zahir might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ediz Kutlualp. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ali Asım Zahir ran back to his position shaking his head. Ali Asım Zahir sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 28 played minutes Penguenler got a freekick which was hit by Alphan Adıbelli. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cevher Başat in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cemil Arıbaş prevented the ball from getting in the gole. İlkan Ayvazoğlu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Cevher Başat had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 36 minutes into the match, Penguenler's goal looked a bit too open when Cevher Başat came free, but Cemil Arıbaş reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cevher Başat received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Cemil Arıbaş tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. İlkan Ayvazoğlu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 49th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cemil Arıbaş having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Şadi Seyfeddin to make the kick off. Maltepespor SK's Ediz Kutlualp played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ali Asım Zahir in the 53rd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cevher Başat got free with Cemil Arıbaş in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. İlkan Ayvazoğlu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cemil Arıbaş read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. The supporters of Maltepespor SK booed when Penguenler was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alphan Adıbelli didn't get a good kick on the ball. Koray Cömert, 60 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Cemil Arıbaş made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Cevher Başat sent off a good shot on target. Cevher Başat recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cevher Başat struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Cemil Arıbaş didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Maltepespor SK. Cemil Arıbaş took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from İlkan Ayvazoğlu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ali Asım Zahir's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ediz Kutlualp read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. In the 74th minute, Onur Ali Karaca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling İlkan Ayvazoğlu in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cemil Arıbaş prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 81 minutes into the match, Penguenler's goalkeeper Cemil Arıbaş had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cevher Başat. A collision led to Penguenler getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Cemalettin Köken hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that İlkan Ayvazoğlu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cemil Arıbaş was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. Necip Muhlis kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. In the 96th minute, Cevher Başat ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cemil Arıbaş was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Maltepespor SK's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
