After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Nazım Şenaltan managed to get in a good position for a shot. haymanaspor's supporters rose to their feet, but Nazım Şenaltan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paşa Ali Kayıhan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Eşref Yaşer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. In the 9th minute, Özal Uysal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, İstanbul Galatasaray F.C.'s Paşa Ali Kayıhan got control of the ball when Nazım Şenaltan tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 15 minutes of play, haymanaspor's Eşref Yaşer made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Paşa Ali Kayıhan was left in no man's land by his defense there! Özal Uysal hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. When the match clock showed 20 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Talat Nafi sped through haymanaspor's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Bahadırhan Özdoa. Mustafa Numan Yalçın hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. In the 27th minute, Giray Avcı got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 33rd minute, Ensar Özerk hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Paşa Ali Kayıhan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Özal Uysal in the 34th minute. Nazım Şenaltan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Paşa Ali Kayıhan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eşref Yaşer blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Paşa Ali Kayıhan having to make a save. After the first half İstanbul Galatasaray F.C. were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nuri Pekinturk to strike the kick off in the second half. Bahadırhan Özdoa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nuri Pekinturk in the 61st minute of the match. The supporters of İstanbul Galatasaray F.C. booed when haymanaspor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mustafa Numan Yalçın didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 73 played minutes İstanbul Galatasaray F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Ensar Özerk. After a defensive mix-up in İstanbul Galatasaray F.C.'s zone, Eşref Yaşer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paşa Ali Kayıhan came out of the goal and Eşref Yaşer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Talat Nafi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Cemal Ahioğlu charged in rather forcefully in the 78th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cemal Ahioğlu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 78 played minutes haymanaspor got a freekick which was hit by Cemal Ahioğlu. A hard shot by Ensar Özerk from long distance, 80 minutes into the match, got Bahadırhan Özdoa's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Eşref Yaşer struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Paşa Ali Kayıhan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for haymanaspor. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind İstanbul Galatasaray F.C.'s goalkeeper Paşa Ali Kayıhan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Nazım Şenaltan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Paşa Ali Kayıhan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 95th minute, Eşref Yaşer left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The haymanaspor fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
