The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Musa Sabi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Köprüköy's Aytuğ Tuğsan got a free kick in the 8th minute. Cemal Özerkmen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bayram Uzel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of North DUKe booed when Köprüköy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Üzeyir Türcan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ertuğrul Kırdar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Menderes Kutsalmis having to interfere. If Afşin Temizcan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Afşin Temizcan in the 22nd minute of play forced North DUKe's goalkeeper Cemal Özerkmen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bayram Uzel in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cemal Özerkmen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 25thth minute of the game Afşin Temizcan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but North DUKe's Cemal Özerkmen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cemal Özerkmen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Afşin Temizcan, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. A collision led to North DUKe getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Mahmut Hürmüz hit a great ball. Cemal Özerkmen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bayram Uzel in the 39th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Afşin Temizcan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cemal Özerkmen was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Afşin Temizcan in the 42nd minute of play forced North DUKe's goalkeeper Cemal Özerkmen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Afşin Temizcan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Köprüköy's supporters rose to their feet, but Afşin Temizcan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cemal Özerkmen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the North DUKe defense, Bayram Uzel kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cemal Özerkmen. The North DUKe fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cemal Özerkmen should have stopped the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Bayram Uzel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cemal Özerkmen having to interfere. Özdemir Şaki hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Afşin Temizcan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cemal Özerkmen having to interfere. In the 66th minute Afşin Temizcan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cemal Özerkmen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Menderes Kutsalmis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mikail Şemsifer in the 67th minute of play. Cemal Özerkmen came out of the goal in the 69th minute to try and stop a shot by Köprüköy's Bayram Uzel. But to his dismay, Bayram Uzel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. If Bayram Uzel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. North DUKe's Cemal Özerkmen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save North DUKe from getting a goal against them. Bayram Uzel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cemal Özerkmen having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Afşin Temizcan in the 88th minute of play forced North DUKe's goalkeeper Cemal Özerkmen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 92 minutes into the match, North DUKe's goal looked a bit too open when Afşin Temizcan came free, but Cemal Özerkmen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
