When Oğuzer Midilli fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored TRABZONSPOR's protests and gave Oğuzer Midilli a yellow card for diving instead. After 16 played minutes TRABZONSPOR got a freekick which was hit by Oğuzer Midilli. Altuğ Yalazalp fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Selman Eyüp having to interfere. Selman Eyüp made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gökhan Zübeyr in the 23rd minute of play. 27 minutes into the match, BOSHPORUS's goal looked a bit too open when Altuğ Yalazalp came free, but Selman Eyüp reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Selman Eyüp took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gökhan Zübeyr, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Altuğ Yalazalp in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Selman Eyüp prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 31 minutes into the match, BOSHPORUS's goal looked a bit too open when Altuğ Yalazalp came free, but Selman Eyüp reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, TRABZONSPOR's Bayhan Özcan got control of the ball when Çağlar Mansız tried to sneak it across the goal line. Çağlar Mansız fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bayhan Özcan having to interfere. Bayhan Özcan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kerem Engintalay in the 43rd minute of play. Çağlar Mansız received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Bayhan Özcan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Altuğ Yalazalp was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, BOSHPORUS's Kerem Engintalay got a free kick in the 56th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Altuğ Yalazalp in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Selman Eyüp saved BOSHPORUS from getting behind. If Altuğ Yalazalp had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gökhan Zübeyr couldn't finish the play. Selman Eyüp was out of position in the 83 minute of play, and Altuğ Yalazalp capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Altuğ Yalazalp really showed his touch with that goal: 0-1. 89 minutes into the game, one of TRABZONSPOR:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty.
