When Bedirhan Yalgın fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Yeniköy SK's protests and gave Bedirhan Yalgın a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Yeniköy SK getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Bedirhan Yalgın hit a great ball. If Tacettin Dilşad had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 28 minutes, Battal Gazi İrfan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Yeniköy SK and the Demirbilekspor players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in Yeniköy SK's zone, Kutluay Tecimen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tanju Kuthan came out of the goal and Kutluay Tecimen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tuna Sabancı received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Tanju Kuthan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Altuğ Bayer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tacettin Dilşad sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Kutluay Tecimen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tacettin Dilşad fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafet Yazgı having to interfere. Rafet Yazgı showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tacettin Dilşad in the 60th minute of the match. If Tacettin Dilşad had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Altuğ Bayer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafet Yazgı having to interfere. Kutluay Tecimen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tanju Kuthan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. Bedirhan Yalgın hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. After 87 minutes, Erol Karacan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Demirbilekspor and the Yeniköy SK players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Yeniköy SK booed when Demirbilekspor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erol Karacan didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 88th minute, Altuğ Bayer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 96th minute the ball was on its way in behind Yeniköy SK's goalkeeper Tanju Kuthan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Yeniköy SK lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
