Refik Halit Tunçbay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sezgin Demir having to interfere. After having played for 12 minutes, Erol İklim managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Artvin's supporters crossed their fingers, but Erol İklim was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Göktan Özdeş fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aktaç Mansur having to interfere. After 19 played minutes Artvin got a freekick which was hit by Gürkan Siret. GALATASARAY's Sezgin Demir played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erol İklim in the 26th minute of play. In the 37th match minute, Artvin was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aykan Ongay to maneuver through the defense. When GALATASARAY's Göktan Özdeş in the 39th minute got a chance for a shot 39th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Artvin's goalie prevented a goal. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sezgin Demir took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erol İklim, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Erol İklim's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sezgin Demir was relentless in the 64th minute of the game. Artvin's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
