Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bora Tümerdem in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sezgin Demir prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Bora Tümerdem sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bora Tümerdem recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sezgin Demir took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bora Tümerdem, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Göktan Özdeş managed to get in a good position for a shot. GALATASARAY's supporters rose to their feet, but Göktan Özdeş was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kerim Refi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 25th minute, Fedai Akçakoca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kerim Refi came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by GALATASARAY's Göktan Özdeş. But to his dismay, Göktan Özdeş quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Baykan Gelenbe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Bora Tümerdem had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 36th match minute, GALATASARAY was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erim Kabakçı to maneuver through the defense. Bora Tümerdem received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Sezgin Demir tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
