An unexpectedly hard shot by Aykan Uruç in the 10th minute of play forced Galatasaray's goalkeeper Cenk Cemre to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 13th minute Aktuğ Hunalp shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Agostinho Jacinto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 17th minute, Aktuğ Hunalp got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Aykan Uruç came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the AKSARAYSPOR fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aykan Uruç couldn't finish the play. 21 minutes into the match, AKSARAYSPOR's goal looked a bit too open when Çağan Oskay came free, but Agostinho Jacinto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kamer Akdurmuş's late challenge caught a AKSARAYSPOR's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kamer Akdurmuş helped the player get up and apologised. After 40 played minutes Galatasaray got a freekick which was hit by Kamer Akdurmuş. In the 43rd minute, Çağan Oskay got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Galatasaray's zone, Aykan Uruç stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cenk Cemre came out of the goal and Aykan Uruç tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 48th minute, Çağan Oskay ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Agostinho Jacinto was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Aykan Uruç to strike the kick off in the second half. Through an outstanding action, after 54 minutes, Agostinho Jacinto successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Agostinho Jacinto made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Aktuğ Hunalp sent off a good shot on target. Aktuğ Hunalp who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 61stth minute tested the skills of Agostinho Jacinto when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Galatasaray's Cenk Cemre played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aykan Uruç in the 64th minute of play. In the 70th minute, Aktuğ Hunalp got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to AKSARAYSPOR getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Aykan Uruç hit a great ball. Galatasaray's Çağan Oskay got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. AKSARAYSPOR's Agostinho Jacinto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save AKSARAYSPOR from getting a goal against them. Agostinho Jacinto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Çağan Oskay, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. If Çağan Oskay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 89th minute Çağan Oskay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Agostinho Jacinto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Galatasaray's zone, Ata Yayalp stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cenk Cemre came out of the goal and Ata Yayalp tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The AKSARAYSPOR supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Galatasaray's performance. The match ended with a win for Galatasaray.
