Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Abdullatif Tüzün started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 7th minute, Yavuz Selimhan Taşboğa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 9 minutes of play, Ondokuzmayis's Onurhan Bilgin made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lütfullah Korur was left in no man's land by his defense there! Abdullatif Tüzün received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Tansu Akçınar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 18 minutes, Onurhan Bilgin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ondokuzmayis's supporters crossed their fingers, but Onurhan Bilgin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Müfit Şimşektürk fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ondokuzmayis's protests and gave Müfit Şimşektürk a yellow card for diving instead. Müfit Şimşektürk kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Arif Burak Bilge took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 27th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Tansu Akçınar. Ondokuzmayis's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Tansu Akçınar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abdullatif Tüzün, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tansu Akçınar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ömür Yüce, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. After 41 minutes of play Ondokuzmayis's Müfit Şimşektürk was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 41 played minutes Ondokuzmayis got a freekick which was hit by Müfit Şimşektürk. Tansu Akçınar came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by Sivas's Ömür Yüce. But to his dismay, Ömür Yüce quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The supporters of Ondokuzmayis booed when Sivas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Birdal Yanaç didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bektaş Ali Yönet kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Tansu Akçınar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abdullatif Tüzün in the 59th minute of play. Ömür Yüce could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Tansu Akçınar made a huge save. Tansu Akçınar was a little too slow when Abdullatif Tüzün got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 65th minute. The score was now 1-2. Ömür Yüce's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 70thth minute, Tansu Akçınar skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Tansu Akçınar made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Ömür Yüce sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Sivas getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Songurhan Durualp hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Abdullatif Tüzün in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tansu Akçınar prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ömür Yüce's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tansu Akçınar read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. Tansu Akçınar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abdullatif Tüzün, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Abdullatif Tüzün sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 97 minutes into the match, Ondokuzmayis's goal looked a bit too open when Abdullatif Tüzün came free, but Tansu Akçınar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Ondokuzmayis lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
