When Erol Kutuner fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SivasSpor's protests and gave Erol Kutuner a yellow card for diving instead. In the 7th minute, Erol Kutuner hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rıfkı Yeğin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bilgehan Rakim having to interfere. The supporters of Özalp booed when SivasSpor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erol Kutuner didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Özalp's Celal Yalaza in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SivasSpor's goalie prevented a goal. Rıfkı Yeğin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Bilgehan Rakim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Emrah İdilkurt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ilgaz Ulusu in the 37th minute of the match. Ilgaz Ulusu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Emrah İdilkurt having to make a save. In the 40th match minute, SivasSpor was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by İlbey Onay to maneuver through the defense. Emrah İdilkurt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celal Yalaza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Ilgaz Ulusu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Emrah İdilkurt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ilgaz Ulusu, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Anıl Ege Tayuk stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Emrah İdilkurt made an important save on a dangerous shot by Celal Yalaza in the 51st minute. Celal Yalaza took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Emrah İdilkurt. If Ilgaz Ulusu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 72 minutes had been played when some careless play by SivasSpor's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Orkun İstanbul was slow to take the kick. During this time Özalp's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Özalp's Orkun İstanbul to fire away a dangerous shot which Emrah İdilkurt despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When Erol Kutuner was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 82 minutes had been played. Erol Kutuner hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Ilgaz Ulusu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emrah İdilkurt having to interfere. After 90 played minutes SivasSpor got a freekick which was hit by Hüsmen Togay. 92 minutes had been played when some careless play by SivasSpor's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Orkun İstanbul was slow to take the kick. During this time Özalp's players had a chance to rest. Anıl Ege Tayuk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Özalp's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
