The referee ignored KEPSUT SPOR's protests and gave Yücel Yergin a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to KEPSUT SPOR getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Yücel Yergin hit a great ball. Halit Fahri Oğuzbay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tayfun Ökmen having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Fikirtepe's zone, Ali Güralp Okboğa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rıdvan Alpaslan came out of the goal and Ali Güralp Okboğa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Burhanettin Şen struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Rıdvan Alpaslan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for KEPSUT SPOR. If Ali Güralp Okboğa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Olgun Akkoyun sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Olgun Akkoyun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Ali Güralp Okboğa came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the KEPSUT SPOR fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ali Güralp Okboğa couldn't finish the play. KEPSUT SPOR's Tayfun Ökmen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Halit Fahri Oğuzbay in the 36th minute of play. In the 44th minute, Burhanettin Şen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Burhanettin Şen in the 46th minute of play forced Fikirtepe's goalkeeper Rıdvan Alpaslan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 48 minutes, Halit Fahri Oğuzbay managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fikirtepe's supporters crossed their fingers, but Halit Fahri Oğuzbay was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Burhanettin Şen to make the kick off. In the 52nd match minute, Fikirtepe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Doğuhan Sayılgan to maneuver through the defense. But to his dismay, Ali Güralp Okboğa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Doğuhan Sayılgan kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Ali Güralp Okboğa managed to get in a good position for a shot. KEPSUT SPOR's supporters rose to their feet, but Ali Güralp Okboğa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rıdvan Alpaslan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Burhanettin Şen in the 68th minute of play forced Fikirtepe's goalkeeper Rıdvan Alpaslan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 69 minutes into the match, Ali Güralp Okboğa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rıdvan Alpaslan. Fikirtepe's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ali Güralp Okboğa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Olgun Akkoyun couldn't finish the play. 80 minutes into the match, Halit Fahri Oğuzbay notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of KEPSUT SPOR's Tayfun Ökmen. Tayfun Ökmen was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The crowd rose to their feet as Ali Güralp Okboğa kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Rıdvan Alpaslan. That made the score 1-3 in the 96 minute of play. The KEPSUT SPOR supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing KEPSUT SPOR would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
